Run Android Apps On Windows And Mac OS X Without Bluestacks App Player

Are you an android apps fan then you are sure downloading tons of them. Most of the android apps are useful tools that simplify our works and others falls in entertainment category like some android games. If you are bored of running android apps on your phone and want to run them on your windows pc or mac os x then I will teach you how to do that.

For this simple trick we won't be using bluestacks app player and windows android because they require higher graphics requirement and if your pc doesn't fulfill this requirement then both of these tools won't work.Higher graphics require OpenGL version greater than 2.1.So if your computer's graphics chip is outdated I mean not supporting OpenGL 3.0 then you can't run bluestacks app player and windows android on your pc.

On a low end pc you can't run bluestacks app player due to outdated OpenGL version and low graphics performance,so you can't even run android apps that doesn't require any GPU.But with the trick that I am going to tell you here you can run most android apps that doesn't require higher GPU performance as that on a real android device.

Run Android Apps On Windows And Mac OS X Without Using Bluestacks App Player

Create An Android Virtual Device

  • First of all download the android sdk or eclipse adt bundle for windows and mac os x.But I would highly recommend to download the adt bundle because it contains the android jellybean emulator, android sdk and eclipse visual sdk.
  • You can download the adt bundle for your windows and mac os x here. For mac os x when you goto to this link just scroll down a little and click "Download For Other Platforms" and select Mac OS X 64-bit.
  • Extract this adt bundle and save it somewhere on hard disk.In this folder you will find two sub-folders "eclipse","SDK" and file "SDK Manager".
  • Click this "SDK Manager".Now from "Tools" select "Manage AVDs".Click "New" on the right side.
  • A new container window will open to create a new android virtual device.Enter the name of virtual device.Enter name as 'mydevice'
  • In 'Device' option select 3.7" WVGA (480x800: hdpi).In 'Target' select "Android 4.2 - API Level 17".
  • Put a check mark in both check boxes.
  • Keep internal storage to 100 and SD Card also 100 MiB.
  • If your pc is using pci graphics cards like AMD Radeon or NVIDIA GPU then check "Use Host GPU".
  • Click OK to create your AVD.
  • Now select 'mydevice' and click 'Start' on the right side.
Download And Install Your Favourite Apps

  • Now after clicking 'Start' your android emulator will run.It will take time to start.
  • When it finishes starting you will see android 4.2 jellybean home screen.
  • Make sure your computer is connected to internet.
  • On the top of the home screen you will see google search bar.Just click on it with computer mouse.
  • Just search your favorite android apps in this google search. For example you can search 'call recorder apk' or 'google maps apk'.Make sure to put the word apk after the app you are searching.
  • You can download these apps from many third party websites. So download the apk file from this android emulator.
  • After downloading slide the notification bar down and click on the downloaded apk file.It will ask you to install the app.Just do it.

  • It will take few seconds to install.Click open when install is finished.
  • Now run your favorite apps on mac os x or windows.

Now you can easily install android apps on windows pc or mac os x. But note apps requiring gpu performance will not run until your computer's graphics chip support OpenGL above 2.1.So if you want to play android games on your pc then your computer should have a 2.5 GHz CPU,4 GB RAM and a GPU like AMD Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce.
