How To Use Google Chrome As a Media Player On Android

Have you ever thought that the Google Chrome application installed on your android phone can also be used as a media player? Yes, the chrome for android can play music files and videos. While the Nexus devices do have a pre-installed media player, but playing audio and videos with chrome for android make your entertainment more specific and you can enjoy a particular video file at full screen and save yourself from confusing controls found in several third party audio and video player apps.

How To Use Google Chrome As a [Offline] Media Player On Android

• Download and install ES File Explorer.
• Open it. On the main screen you will see 'Music' and 'Movies' options.
• I am teaching the procedure for videos which is same for music files.
• Tap the 'Movies' tab. Here you can see all the videos.
• Long tap any video then tap 'More' then select 'Properties'.
• Now tap 'Copy fullpath'. Then tap 'Cancel'.

• Now open Google Chrome android app and long tap the address bar and tap 'Paste'.
• The address of that file will be automatically pasted in to the address bar, now tap 'Go' button on the phone's keyboard.
• A player will open. Tap the play button to start playing video. You are also playing offline videos in chrome for android with this trick.

• Tap the full screen icon next to volume button to watch videos in full screen.
• Make sure that screen rotation is enabled so that you can watch the movies in landscape mode in full screen.

Note : To play a music file offline, repeat the same process above.
