LG 5 Star Wi-Fi ACs come with built-in smart controls through the LG ThinQ app, allowing you to manage your AC directly from your smartphone. Along with dual inverter technology and convertible cooling modes, these ACs help deliver efficient cooling while reducing unnecessary power consumption.
The LG ThinQ app lets you turn the AC on or off, adjust temperature settings, and control cooling remotely without depending on the physical remote.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to connect your LG 5 Star Wi-Fi AC (split or window model) to the LG ThinQ app on Android and iPhone.
How To Connect LG 5 Star Wi-Fi AC to LG ThinQ App For Android and iOS
The LG ThinQ is a smart home hub that lets you manage your LG appliances over Wi-Fi. With this app, you can control or configure almost any LG home appliance that supports Wi-Fi. You can add your LG AC, refrigerator, oven, washing machine, dishwasher, air purifier, etc., and manage them from a single app.
With the LG ThinQ app, you can command your AC to start operating with your desired cooling way before you step into your room. This feature is extremely useful, as you will get your room already cooled when you are getting back to your home on a hot summer day. Just ask someone at your home to power on the AC and the Wi-Fi for you.
Special Note: Not all LG air conditioners support LG ThinQ connectivity. Only LG AC models with built-in Wi-Fi and LG ThinQ compatibility can be connected to the LG ThinQ app. Check your AC model specifications or user manual to confirm compatibility before starting the setup process.

- Download and install the LG ThinQ for Android | iOS. Sign up on the app using your email and you will be asked to set a password for your LG account.
- Enable GPS (location) on your Android and iPhone as without GPS the LG ThinQ app will not work. You can disable GPS once you finish configuring the app.

- Also, make sure that you have a 2.5GHz Wi-Fi connection and the router is switched on. If you do not have a Wi-Fi connection, you can use your Android or iPhone as a Wi-Fi hotspot with 2.5GHz connection. 5GHz Wi-Fi connections are not supported by your LG 5 star Wi-Fi AC.
- Download and install the LG ThinQ app for your Android and iPhone from Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.
- After installing the app, open the 'App info' for LG ThinQ on your Android. You can do this by long tapping the app and selecting the 'i' icon or if you do not see this, go to Settings > Apps > LG ThinQ.
- Here, ensure that 'Notifications' are 'Allowed' and app permissions such as 'Location' and 'Nearby devices' must be granted by you.
