Previously I wrote about some tips and tricks about samsung galaxy y.That tricks were useful and every galaxy y user should know them.Here are some more tips regarding galaxy y S-5360 android phone.
Trick 1 : go to music player and play your favourite ringtone or music and then press the option key.You will see an option of 'set as ringtone'.Select this option your favourite ringtone will be set as incoming call ringtone on galaxy y.By this method you can set any tone as ringtone.
go to settings>sound>notification ringtone and select your tone from the list.You will see limited ringtones here and there is no browse option to select your favourite ringtone from memory card.If you want your favourite ringtone to set as message tone you have to first save them in a folder on memory card called "media>audio>notifications".You can put many ringtones here of your choice and after putting you will see them in the list in notification ringtone selection list.
WARNING : This app may sometime hangs the phone during active call session.So if you encouter this disable the notification option from the settings of this app and you will not see the notification icon on the top of the screen.Share it if you like it.Be social.

This is an interesting trick proved very useful on galaxy y.You have to do one thing just open the menu and press the options key on the left side of galaxy y.You will see two options,the first one is 'edit' and other one is 'share app via'.Click on 'share app via'.When you click on this a list of existing apps on your device will open.You can select which apps you want to share,select them and click 'done'.After clicking the mode of sharing will appear,you will see options whether to share apps via bluetooth,via gmail,via facebook,via email etc.Select bluetooth if you want to share these apps with other android devices.This sharing will send the link to other users from where they can download it.

As there is no pre built application for galaxy y to record calls.But you can download 'call recorder' from play store to record incoming calls on your android device.This app works in background and automatically records and saves them on memory card.It provides three formats for voice recording i.e. 3gp,wav and amr.Select your favourite format from setting menu.

Delete1.Download the widget locker.
2.Install the app y clicking it.If installing is blocked then goto settigs>applications>unknown sources>(check it).
3.Now install the widget locker apk.
4.Now open it when you open it click continue til finish.
5.You will see two lockers long press the both lockers and drag them down to delete it.
6.Now click menu button on phone and select "choose custom slider" then select it and choose your favourite slider and click save.
7.Again click menu and select settings click advanced and click disable stock lock screen.
8.you can put the slider in bottom position by long pressing and dragging.

I have only 97 messages in my inbox in one conversation and still i'm unable to receive text messages. My phone keeps me notifying that you have low phone memory and that you SD card has been removed unexpectedly. Im so much fed up of these. i have hardly two applications downloaded on my phone memory. My friend has the same phone but she is free of these problems though she has downloaded some apps on her phone. i have samsung galaxy YS5360. Please help me :(

ReplyDeletethe sim card with a screw icon in notification appears during media scanning on your memory card.It automatically vanishes after scanning the sd card.If something is wrong with sd card then the icon will appear continuously.Are you able to access your memory card.The memory card format should be FAT or FAT32 not NTFS.Check your sd card first.It's not the problem with phone.

ReplyDeletesheza internal memory of galaxy y is just 190 MB and you can't take 4225 pics with this memory.You might have problem with sd card.Buy a higher space sd card.

If your galaxy y keeps on heating without use then your phone's battery is faulty.When I play games on it it heats to 48 degrees I use android assisstant to monitor temperature.
You can't increase internal memory.
I can not open picture messages; it just perpetually says DOWNLOADING and when i click on it, i just get the message details like size, when it was sent, etc. I inserted one of those tiny SD memory cards,but it has not seemed to help except that I can now take pictures with the phone (but they will not send).

ReplyDeleteDon't worry Melissa this is a very common problem and I have faced it too so many times.There is a simple solution to this problem that is don't put images and songs in different folder.If you put songs in different folder which should not contain any camera image of you then while playing music your photos will not show up and you will see only a flower background.Make separate folders for "MUSIC" and put all your music files in this folder only and do not put images in this folder.

DeleteGalaxy Y has an internal memory of just 190 MB and its memory becomes full in just 8 to 9 android apps.There is no use of rooting this phone if you do not know to create sd card partitions.If you have already rooted your device then you can move all apps to sd card.You can use.

ReplyDeleteIf you are talking about the pattern lock then you need to activate it.To activate the pattern lock proceed as follows.
Delete1.Goto Settings>Location and security.
2.Then click "Set screen lock".And then choose "Pattern".
3.Now draw your pattern and click continue.Again drwa the same pattern to confirm and click "confirm".
4.Now pattern lock is set up.It will automatically lock your phone.
WARNING : Do not forget the pattern lock otherwise phone will not open.To unlock the pattern lock if forgot password use your GMAIL account's password associated with that android galaxy y.

ReplyDeleteThere is no option in galaxy y for this.But you can use "Do Not Disturb" android app which will automatically send sms when someone calls and tell them that you are busy.This app is available in play store but is not free.
