1. Build: Moto E has good build quality. It fits quite well in any hand with a good grip. Entire body is of plastic. It has two sensors on the top left that is proximity and accelerometer. The Earpiece and the speaker are located on the front side of the phone. It comes both is single and dual SIM variants. It only supports micro SIM.

2. Display: Moto E has 4.3 inches qHD screen with a resolution of 540x960 pixels and 256ppi. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, so don’t worry about smudges and scratches. The display is sharp enough so that you can’t see pixels. There is no need to install a separate screen guard. Also the display is protected by water-repellent splash guard for long lasting durability. So at just Rs. 6999 you are getting Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, water-repellent splash guard and HD display with 256ppi. However the screen is just normal TFT capacitive touchscreen but it doesn’t matter when you have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. So the display of Moto E is the sharpest in its class. LED notification light is present on top right corner.

3. Storage: Moto E has an inbuilt storage of just 4GB out of which only 2 GB will be user available. The storage is expandable upto 32 GB via micro sdcard. But you can not install apps on sdcard. You can only install apps only in 2GB of space. But 2 GB is enough to run all the useful apps you want. You can install 40-50 most popular android apps in Moto E. You cannot connect a pen drive to it by using a OTG cable.

4. CPU/GPU: Moto E is powered by a snapdragon 200 1.2 GHz cortex A7 dual core CPU, which is not the latest but is acceptable at this price range. It’s a dual core CPU which can handle heavy games without lags. Snapdragon 200 is known for its lag free performance. So a dual core 1.2 GHz CPU is a real deal at just only Rs. 6999. It also features Adreno 302 400 MHz single core GPU which is also not the high end GPU but you will be able to play games like Asphalt, Fifa 14, GTA vice city and much more. No other android smartphone has adreno 302 GPU with a dual core CPU at this price range. So this is an another solid reason to buy this phone.

5. Battery: Moto E has 1980 mAh Lithium-ion, non-removable battery which can last for one day at mixed usage. It does not support USB OTG function. So you can not connect a pendrive to it for data transfer.

6. Android Version: It has the latest android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS with minimal customizations. So you can experience the original android Kitkat OS on it. Other android smartphones are limited to only android 4.1 in this price range. Motorola has confirmed next guaranteed android update for Moto E which will android 4.4.3.

7. RAM: Moto E has 1 GB RAM which is enough to run most apps. Out of 1 GB  RAM 250 MB is system reserved. Only at most  450 MB of RAM is user available which is enough to run any android app.

8. Camera: The camera is 5 MP with geotag and touch focus features. It records video at 854x480 at 30fps. It can play HD videos at 720p. It is missing a LED flash and does not have the HDR function. There is no front camera.

Moto E Cons

  • No LED camera flash.
  • No USB OTG function.
  • No front camera.
  • Low internal storage of 4 GB. Maximum 2 GB is user available, out of which around 1.5 GB can be used for installing apps.
  • In the box there is no charger and headset. But Flipkart will be providing it separately.

These are few cons of Moto E but believe me you are not going to even think about these cons when you are getting the best android 4.4 kitkat smartphone in its class.
