Print Spooler Not Running : Unable To Connect To Network Printer

In this tutorial I will teach you how to fix printer connection issues on a LAN.A printer can be shared on a LAN,which means that you can issue print commands via LAN.But most times your windows computer won't be able to detect any printer due to an error caused by stopped printer process called print spooler. The print spooler process is associated with all printer related work like taking prints on your computer. If this process is stopped then you can't see any printer installed and can't add a new printer.

The print spooler process doesn't stop itself but may be stopped due to change in system's firewall settings. The default windows firewall doesn't block or stop this print spooler process. So what else has happened. The print spooler process may be stopped if you have recently installed an antivirus with a firewall. The antivirus firewall will block the outgoing connection of the print spooler process because you are sharing a network printer. Also you will see that print option is unavailable in every program like Microsoft office, adobe reader, that is the print option can't be clicked.

To make the printer work again you have to restart this print spooler process. You can do this by following the steps below.

1.Goto Start menu and click 'Run'.
2.Now type 'services.msc'.
3.Now find 'Print spooler'.

4.Right click on it and select 'Properties'.
5.In 'Startup type' select 'Automatic'.Then click ok.
6.Now goto Start menu and click 'Devices and Printers'.
7.You will see all the printers listed here. Now you can use the network printer to take print outs.
