First of all download and install java from the link above.Without installing java the CASUAL software won’t run because it is a jar file which is a cross platform file that will run on windows,mac and linux.So java needs to be installed.The procedure is same for windows,mac and linux which means that you can root at&t galaxy s3 on these platforms by using the same procedure.

    The window (AT&T GS3 Root) says that this is an unsupported device..

      1.Samsung usb drivers.
      2.Enable USB debugging mode on galaxy s3.
      3.Install Java on your mac.

      It will work..

  2. Hello...
    I keep getting: ERROR: "-CACHE" is not a valid argument

    The device is recognized and says it's connected. Here is the output:

    Checking device
    Rebooting into download mode
    adb completed
    Waiting for heimdall detect to pass and then excuting close-pc-screen
    Waiting for Downoad Mode device.detected!
    ERROR: "-CACHE" is not a valid argument

    Suggestions?

    3. Rooting is not recommended if you are not a developer.I myself not rooted my phone because rooting makes your android more vulnerable to threats and bugs.

    5. Samsung Mobile uses a custom binary counter to keep track of any Modding of firmwares and kernels done by users of their phones. Any flashing of roms/kernels not signed by Samsung will trigger an increase in this counter which can be viewed by putting your phone into download mode.

      Why is this important to you? This officially voids your warranty and tells warranty centers that you have broken your warranty which can give them rights to refuse or charge you for servicing your phone. Flashing a stock Samsung Note firmware signed by Samsung may also trigger the counter.

      You can use triangle away to reset the flash counter.

    12. One thing I forgot to mention that install usb drivers for AT&T MSM8960 Galaxy S3.Kies won't work sometimes as these devices are driver specific.

  5. When I clicked "do it!" I got an error message saying "heimdall must be installed", but my S3 still went into the process, and says "Downloading... Do not turn off target!!" What do I do???? Please help! email me HamzehFMalkawi@gmail.com

    1. Try disabling the samsung kies,it may be interfering in the rooting process.Try uninstalling it..

  6. hey man i follow step by step, opened the "CASUAL" pressed "do it" and all it did was go half way bar and kept blinking a new window saying i didnt have the driver over and over and over and over... something about Zadig. it was a fail. I made sure i was following step by step installed the Kies and everything.
